The Library of our Mind

Millions of pieces of information that you have gathered during your lifetime are stored in your unconscious mind, like a huge library, with information waiting to be retrieved as you need it.  From the time you were born, maybe (even before) your life experiences begin shaping how you think, feel and behave towards ourselves and others and influences how you manage your everyday life.  How you react to external stimuli.

Some of this programming can be good, making you feel comfortable in your own skin, confident in your abilities and giving you a sense of self.

On the other hand, if life throws into the mix negative experiences, such as childhood traumas, grief, loss of a parent, child or sibling, divorce, relationship issues, illness, bullying, exams and everyday stresses, piled high, layer by layer, your cup can overflow and you can feel vulnerable, overwhelmed, unable to process everything properly, unable to cope.  

You lose touch with who you really are. These traumatic events or repeated negative experiences lead to negative associated thought patterns which begin to form a loop where you are held captive by your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
